I met Tanya at the local library and there I heard her story. I asked her about the pain, trauma and challenges of raising a child who is to speak, walk or eat food by mouth. I heard her sad story and my dear readers, I am on a crusade to raise the fund needed for Jaden’s treatment. Yes, you have guessed that right; Jaden is Tanya’s son. And in order to carry out his expensive hyperbaric oxygen treatment and stem cell treatment Tanya needs donation.
Here I am sharing Jaden’s story
Tanya said that his son Jaden Hayes (5 years) had a near drown and was without a heartbeat for an hour on that day. Still, he woke up however he woke up with some serious issues and he was unable to speak, walk or eat food by mouth. He was in the hospital for over a month, and as soon he as was released Tanya almost immediately started physical therapy, speech therapy, stem cell therapy and hyperbaric oxygen treatment
The treatment consists of 6 weeks of injections of the medicine Neupogen which initiates the production of stem cells in large numbers. Blood is drawn daily to measure the levels of his white blood cells to see the amount of stem cells being produced. If the count is over a certain number the medication is held until the level is back to where it should be.
Although Tanya has Aetna insurance and they did pay for that treatment up until January 2012. However, the insurance is not ready to cover the cost for the stem cell treatment as its still considered experimental for Jaden’s condition. Stem cell treatment is mighty costly $50,000 which is a lot when the insurance will not cover it. If you are reading this, donate for Jaden, because even a small donation can make a major difference.
